A few months ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the latest collaboration of an incredible trio, composed of Asics, the Japanese of atmos and the Australians of Sneaker Freaker. The Gel Lyte 3 features a new look inspired by the « Alley Cats » that roam the mini-boulevards of Tokyo and Melbourne, the respective birthplaces of atmos and Sneaker Freaker.
Having had the chance to receive it thanks to my partner Asics USA, I suggest you to discover it in pictures at my feet.
To refer to these animals, the famous shoe with the split tongue is dressed in a luxurious grey velvet cowhide at the level of overlays and glow-in-the-dark stripes reminiscent of cats’ fur and eyes that glow in the night. The different shades of purple and lime green satin on the other parts of the shoe serve to mimic the ambiance given by the neon lights in the streets of the 2 cities. This special purple shade is the result of mixing the atmos blue with the classic red Sneaker Freaker logo. The 2 partners combined their respective signature colors to immortalize this collaboration. As for the rest of the construction, the rubber nets on the quarter panel and heel make their comeback in black color, matching the inner lining. The « atmos Tokyo » and « Sneaker Freaker » logos are embroidered in black on the split tongue on the left and right foot respectively. They are also embossed on each heel and affixed to the insole. The whole is based on a two-tone white/purple speckled midsole and a three-tone black/white/lime green outsole.
I find this triple collaboration really successful aesthetically speaking. Indeed, the colors blend perfectly for a perfect homogeneity. I also really like the shape which seems to have found an aggressive and tapered line. In short, you will have understood, I validate in 100% this collab.
