A few days ago, the Japanese reference shop ATMOS presented a 4-way collaboration with Birdog and Comdot, based on the PUMA Suede VTG. Today, the famous Harajuku store unveils a new reinterpretation of this iconic sneaker imagined to commemorate the imminent release of the movie “Shin Kamen Rider”.
This special version of the PUMA Suede features the colors of the movie’s main character,”Kamen Rider” aka Takeshi Hongo, a motorcycle enthusiast who was kidnapped by the evil “Shocker” organization and transformed into a cyborg. Having escaped from his captors before he is formatted for ‘world domination’, Takeshi renames himself “Kamen Rider” and engages in a war against Shocker.
“Shin Kamen Rider” is a Japanese superhero movie written and directed by Hikeaki Anno, which will be released on March 17, 2023 in Japan and one day later, on March 18, internationally.
This Puma Suede VTG revisited by Atmos consists of a black and dark green suede upper, complemented by a red side stripe made of glossy and satin material. More precisely, the green color dresses the panels and the black hue is found on the toe box, the tongue and the heel tab. To affirm the collab and the homage to the superhero movie, the pair is adorned with several specific details, such as the emblem of the organization added to the PUMA branding of the tongue and insole. The whole is based on a yellowed sole that adds a vintage feel to the model. The pair will be delivered in a specially designed box with a ‘Kamen Rider’ charm.
To accompany the sneaker, the partners offer us a black hoodie and 2 special short sleeve t-shirts, one black and one white, with the PUMA logo and ‘Shin Kamen Rider’ printed on the front in the original colors. The atmos branding stands out on the sleeves.
The atmos x PUMA SUEDE VTG “KAMEN RIDER” and textile items will be available from April 3, 2023, both in stores and online via an open raffle on the Japanese shop atmos-tokyo.com. The price is set at ¥16,500 ($125) for the Suede, ¥6,600 ($50) for each T-shirt and ¥10,890 ($82) for the hoodie.
