The Japanese boutique Atmos, directed by the talented designer Koji, offers us ultra seductive collaborations during this summer 2020. After presenting us two innovative and futuristic versions of the iconic adidas Superstar, as well as a stunning Asics Gel Lyte III created with Sean Wotherspoon (articles available on this website), Atmos is teaming up with its German partner adidas to complete the « Animal pack ». Today it’s the retro silhouette of the ZX 8000 that has been added to this collection.
After the release of the futuristic adidas ZX ALKYNE « Crazy Animal » silhouette, which was quickly sold out, this ZX 8000 sneaker comes back from the past to connect with the future. This shoe has a similar design to the ALKYNE. It consists of a flocked fabric upper with five patterns of animal fur and skin : zebra, tiger, leopard, panther and snake. On these inserts, overlays in textured cream-white suede give the pair an elegant look. To harmonize the animal design, the TPU laceguard and the inner lining are finished in light brown. Flaming orange accents on the heel clip, tongue branding, 3 adidas stripes and laces deubes enhance the aesthetic of the shoe. As always with Atmos, great attention is paid to detail and innovative touches add originality to the models. For example, reflective material inserts decorate the toe and heel of the shoe, and the insole features coupled brandings. The whole is based on a white speckled midsole in EVA foam with two orange inserts under the toes and heel and the Torsion support band in the same colour. A rubber outsole optimizes grip. The pair comes with 3 sets of laces to ensure the best matches.
The Atmos x adidas Originals ZX 8000 « Crazy Animal » will be available from August 1, 2020 in Atmos shops in Japan, at A.T.A.D. and online at atmos-tokyo.com for around €130.
