It’s with great enthusiasm that the famous shop ATMOS welcomed the return of the ADIDAS ADIMACTIC last March. During the following weeks, Koji and his team had imagined a special version dressed with the famous « Atmos Blue ». Wishing to continue to honor this ADIDAS model released in 1996, the Harajuku store presents us with a new iteration named « Shoebox ».
The ADIDAS ADIMATIC is a cult pair in Japan. With its particular shape, this shoe of the 90’s has also been used as a skateshoe and has therefore expanded its audience.
The « OG SHOEBOX » version is the second special iteration of the ADIMATIC for atmos.
This new variation is inspired by the original shoebox of the 1996 model.
Imitating the box and design details of this vintage box, this sneaker consists of a light brown suede upper with a matching mudguard contrasted by black 3-Stripes. To complete the look, the inner lining, tongue tag, adidas mountain logo and heel clip are also featured in black. The shoebox design adorns the insole and the pair benefits from a co-branded hangtag reminiscent of the paper ones that were attached to sneakers in the 90’s. Oversized laces, an off-white midsole and a gum outsole add the finishing touches to the design.
The atmos x adidas Originals ADIMATIC OG « SHOEBOX » will be released on September 17, 2022 at the price is set at $92 (¥13,200), in stores and on the adidas CONFIRMED app in Japan. A raffle is also open on the Japanese shop’s website.
To celebrate this release, adidas and atmos are holding a special event on September 17, 2022 at the adidas and atmos collaborative store « A.T.A.D ». A workshop on shoebox recycling will be held with cardboard artist Fuyuki Shimazu. Enjoy !
