ATMOS PUMA SLIPSTREAM MID MIJ LEOPARD

The Japanese reference shop ATMOS continues to spread the sneaker culture around the world. After having collaborated with adidas Consortium (article available HERE), the famous retailer reinterprets the iconic PUMA Slipstream Mid. This new Made in Japan version is an exclusive « The Beast » model of the brand.

The PUMA SLIPSTREAM was released in 1987 as an NCAA college basketball shoe. Although it was not sold in Japan at that time, it did appear on Japanese soil via parallel import systems.

Still very popular, it’s officially back thanks to the shop ATMOS and its special order MIJ. The presented model is based on the original 1988 version.

The design has been faithfully reproduced by the Japanese craftsmen. We find the « trendy coat » style leopard base reinterpreted with the highest quality Haraco material. The overlays are made of carefully selected black Himeji leather. The heel has been upgraded from TPU to black leather for durability. The Puma branding and model name appear in white on the overlays, alongside the iconic side stripe. To accentuate comfort and stability, the white and black Anti-Shock System sole is coupled with the premium Made in Japan insole specs.

Atmos enlisted the help of artist JESSE, frontman of rock bands RIZE and The BONEZ, to highlight and showcase this sneaker in images.

The PUMA SLIPSTREAM MID MIJ LEOPARD atmos will be released on October 8, 2021 via a raffle set up on atmos-tokyo.com which is now open. The price is set at 238$ (26400¥).
