Atmos con Vol.8 « Digital »

Launched in October 2016, the annual « atmos con » event was basically a sneaker convention organized by Tokyo’s cult shop ATMOS. The success of this festival has largely increased over the years and sessions. In addition to exclusive pairs from major brands, this event features talk shows on urban culture and live music performances. Since Vol.4 and Vol.5, this festival also hosts streetwear brands. Its popularity goes beyond the borders of sneaker and Japan : families, foreigners and more and more women come to this event.

Due to the global health crisis, this year’s « atmos con » will not be held in a public place but will be held in a digital form for the first time. The « atmos con Vol.8 » is named « Digital ».

The visuals for this event were designed by the illustrator Tsumi Koto. This artist, who has been posting her works on social media since 2017 (@cotoh_tsumi on Instagram), is known for teaming up with the Japanese music group YOASOBI and for her specific concept : « I can only draw girls. I can only draw nice people ». So, ladies’ honor for this 8th edition of atmos con. The work elaborated for atmos con has become a visual with a strong message.

The festival includes a multitude of contents, such as the sale of limited and exclusive products, special live performances by musicians and DJs, and talk shows with a large number of guests. It’s a participatory event where users on the other side of the screen will not only be able to purchase items, but also leave comments and participate in the music performances and talk shows.

The list of all the labels present has been revealed. In alphabetical order : adidas Originals, Andersson Bell, asicsSports Style, BOTANIZE, BE@RBRICK, Coca-Cola, FILA, #FR2, HOKA ONE ONE, jouetie, KEEN, LONELY logic, On, PUMA, Reebok, Round Two, SALOMON, SAPeur, SHURE, THE NETWORK BUSINESS, UCG, WIND AND SEA, WOOD by PROPS management and YAGI.

Participating musical artists will be Hannya, SHOKICHI by EXILE, SWAY, KENYA, RIRI, Shurkn Pap and FNCY. The musical atmosphere will also be provided by 2 DJs : tofubeats and JOMMY.

The atmos con Vol.8 « Digital » will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Any person in Japan will be able to attend, after buying a ticket that gives access to the event.
