Fashion designer Kiko Kostadinov has been working with the Japanese brand ASICS for several years now. The success of the first collaborations led him to an official position within the sportswear company : artistic director of the sportstyle range. The Kiko studio has allowed the revival of forgotten models and the development of new silhouettes, such as the ASICS HN2-S PROTOBLAST (article available HERE). The new goal is to introduce a new version of the famous GEL-1130.
In the past, Kiko Kostadinov has already redesigned this running shoe dating back to 2008. One year ago to the day, 5 exclusive colorways of the UBS-S GEL-1130 were released.
Today, this model appears with new changes made by the studio Kiko.
Named the UB4-S GEL-1130, the sneaker features an airy mesh upper, which mostly hides the basic construction and the usual ASICS branding details on the quarter panel. This special edition was unveiled in 3 colorways : sky blue/silver-yellow, black/navy blue-purple and dark brown/yellow-khaki. It features glossy synthetic overlays, small contrasting color accents on the toe and speckled flat laces. A comfortable GEL technology sole, that matches the upper, adds the finishing touch to the design.
The ASICS UB4-S GEL-1130 by Kiko Kostadinov Studio is expected to be released soon, possibly in August 2022, at select retailers and on asics.com. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
