ASICS GEL LYTE III “DRAGON FRUIT”

This year 2020 celebrates the 30th anniversary of the sneaker with the iconic tongue cut in half, created by Shigeyuki Mitsui : the Asics Gel Lyte III. After a comeback with its OG colorways and the Modern Tokyo iteration with its understated and futuristic look, the Japanese equipment manufacturer surprises us with a model in tangy colours called “Dragon Fruit”.

As its name suggests, this shoe subtly recaptures the colours of the fruit from the cactus called dragon fruit. It also comes in a range of bold and pastel shades, making this pair ideal for the coming summer season.

The upper consists of lilac pastel mesh with suede overlays. The latter come in two colours : teal on the toe, the laceguard and heel counter, and greedy pink, reminiscent of dragon fruit, on the side panels. The emblematic Asics stripes are black on a lilac background with a small purple part. To complete the design, the inner lining is teal, while the laces and the insole are black. In terms of details, we discover touches of pinkish red on the strip on the back of the shoe and on the laces eyelets. The whole is based on a light blue, pearl grey and greedy pink Gel midsole, combined with a black and pinkish red outsole.

The Asics Gel Lyte III “Dragon Fruit” is available now on the Asics website and at selected retailers, for 110€ and in men’s sizes from US 5 to US 14.

If you like this surprise pair, hurry up because it’s quickly running out of stock!
