The talented self-taught graphic designer ANDERSON BLUU unveils his 2nd collaboration with the Italian brand DIADORA. After offering us a duo of sneakers paying tribute to Italian wine last year (article available HERE), the founder of the creative agency « Bluu Dreams » presents a new limited collection « Ice Cream Truck », composed of 2 variations of the silhouette N9002.
This collaboration marks Anderson Bluu’s 6th and 7th sneaker release with Foot Locker and his 1st partnership with Champs Sports.
This pack pays homage to the iconic New York City ice cream trucks and its popular ice cream flavors. It includes 2 colorways of the DIADORA N9002 : « Vanilla Cone » and « Chocolate Cone ».
Anderson Bluu explained about this collab : « It’s not summertime in New York until you hear the ice cream truck bell coming to your neighborhood. I wanted to create a sneaker design that made people of all ages nostalgic. »
The « Vanilla Cone » version references the must-have vanilla ice cream. It consists of a combination mesh and suede upper in a cream colorway, enhanced by pink or blue accents such as the side Diadora logo, laces and upper eyelets. These elements are a nod to the colorful sugar glitter added to the ice. The inner lining and part of the tri-color midsole appear in a light brown color to recall the ice cream cones.
The « Chocolate Cone » iteration honors the iconic chocolate ice cream. It’s dressed in mesh and suede in several shades of brown and beige. At the midsole, there are also traces of chocolate glitter sprinkles. To harmonize the look, the sole appears in a combination of white and brown colors.
The 2 collaborative N9002s feature an ice cream cone embroidery on the heel, a special co-branded tongue tag, graphic ice cream-inspired insoles and a yellow and black « Slow Crossing » hangtag evoking the collection’s ice cream truck theme.
The Anderson Bluu x Diadora « Ice Cream Truck » collection will be released on August 25, 2022 exclusively in stores and online at footlocker.com and champssports.com, priced at $120 per pair.
To celebrate the release of this collection, Foot Locker will host an event at its Washington Heights Community Store, located at 605 West 181st St, New York, New York, on August 25 from 4-7pm EST. Attendees will be able to shop the collection, meet Anderson Bluu and taste three ice cream flavors created by and in collaboration with Mikey Likes It. Enjoy !
