While the 2020 edition of the Parisian world streetball championship « Quai 54 » will not take place due to the COVID-19 crisis, Jordan Brand has maintained the release of his collection of sneakers dedicated to this event (articles available on this site). The American brand is further enriching this range by adding the brand new silhouette designed by the great Tinker Hatfield and called « AJNT 23 ».
The shoe consists of a black ripstop upper with seamless overlays in the same colour. The innovative lacing system consists of a black Y-shaped strap that activates small cables that act as laces and are connected to six metal tightening buttons. A multicoloured black, purple, blue and orange print, reminiscent of the Aztec design of an AJ6 from this 2020 collection, appears on portions of this strap as well as on the heel counter and insole. To add cachet to the pair, the tongue and heel straps are adorned in a royal blue. In terms of branding details, the Quay 54 logo is embroidered in purple thread on the heel and the white Jumpman appears on the strap and insole. The whole is based on a comfortable white midsole with a black addition under the heel to enhance performance, combined with a pastel purple rubber outsole. To finalize the neat design, a white Jumpman logo with an AJ1 « Black Toe » is revealed under the foot at the heel.
This new AJNT 23 model is defined as « an elite shoe for elite players ». Therefore, this high-performance sneaker with its stylish design is delivered in an equally elite container : a matt black hard case with a purple Jumpman.
After being released a few days ago in a very limited edition in a very few stores like Shinzo Paris or Basket4Ballers Strasbourg, the Air Jordan AJNT 23 « Quai 54 » will be available on Nike.com, for a price of 200€, in the coming weeks. Stay tuned…
