Air Jordan 4 « Sashiko »

As a continuation of the « Sashiko » pack presented by Nike’s SB division in July, Jordan Brand unveils an AJ4 also designed on this theme. « Sashiko » is an ancient sewing technique used to reinforce and embellish old clothes and fabrics. This next Air Jordan 4 « Sashiko » is adorned with embroidery patterns paying homage to this Japanese artisanal heritage.

The shoe, designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1989, is dressed in a colour palette ranging from deep blue to white, grey and Fire Red. It consists of a patchwork upper with a wide range of Japanese graphics and patterns. The materials used are reminiscent of denim canvas. We find mismatched tongues, inner linings and laces, affirming the recovery patchwork design. As for the Jumpman, it appears embroidered with white thread on the tongue labels of each foot. The semi-translucent blue heel tab adds cachet to the pair. The whole is based on a white and off-white midsole under the heel, combined with a translucent outsole.

The pair will be delivered in a special edition box, featuring the « Sashiko » embroidery patterns embellishing the vamp.

The Air Jordan 4 « Sashiko » is scheduled for release in fall 2020, at selected retailers and on Nike.com, for a price of 190€. Stay tuned !
