The Air Jordan 1 XQ is one of the most limited versions in the history of the Jumpman brand. Initially released in 2007 exclusively in China and limited to only 240 units, this AJ1 will make its return soon.
This shoe was part of the « Happy Occasion » pack that paid tribute to Chinese festivities. Very rare, it was one of the first versions to be numbered (inside the shoe box) and now, 25 years after its release, shows a price of 13,000$ on specialized websites.
The reissue remains faithful to the original model with dragon-inspired motifs and others laser-printed on the upper. It comes in a combination of white, black and red colors, with gold accents. As for the construction, the sneaker consists of a white, black and red leather upper with a red nylon tongue. The look is provided by red embroidery patterns on the white panels and tonal engraving on the red overlays. We also find contrasting stitching on the key inserts and on the gold colored side Swoosh. The latter color also stands out on the inner lining, ankle contours, Wings logo and laces. A slight adjustment has been applied to the tongue branding. The reissue features a full gold logo, while the original version featured a gold and black stitched label. The 2022 pair features special 25th anniversary insoles. The whole is based on a white midsole with red stitching, coupled with a semi-translucent gold outsole.
