Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG « Rebellionaire »

Jordan Brand continues to pay homage to iconic moments in its history through exclusive releases. The latest is an Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG « Rebellionaire », which is inspired by the legendary 1985 Banned campaign.

Back in the 80s, the legendary Michael Jordan had scorned NBA rules that forbade him to wear his pair of shoes because of the colorway.

The all-new Air Jordan 1 « Rebellionaire » is inspired by the original 1985 AJ 1 « Banned » commercial (as a reminder, the actual banned silhouette on the floor was the Air Ship). His Airness continued to wear his sneakers and Nike continued to pay the $5000 per game fines.

The name « Rebellionaire » refers to MJ’s rebellious spirit. This special edition comes in a combination of grey, black and white reminiscent of the classic « Shadow » colorway. The entire upper is covered with a contrasting graffiti-style print « They can’t stop you from wearing them » appearing as a nod to the 1985 « Banned » commercial. We also find the famous red « X » at the heels, already seen on the 2011 version and symbolizing the pair « banned ». To complete the look, the nylon tongue, laces, inner lining and ankle Wings logo appear in black. The whole is based on a white midsole and a grey outsole that harmoniously complete the design.

The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG « Rebellionaire » will be released on March 18, 2022, at select retailers and nike.com, priced at $170. Be ready !
