A few weeks ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about one of the pairs of shoes composing the Quai54 2022 collection : The Jordan 1 High Stash Quai54. This reinterpretation of the 1st signature silhouette of Michael Jordan has a look inspired by West African cultures.
Having had the chance to receive it, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.
It consists of an indigo blue waterproof textile upper, complemented by white canvas overlays. In order to affirm the theme, the collar and insole are adorned with a blue/white striped pattern that recalls traditional African dress. The pair also benefits from a removable zip pocket on the African-style heel and hidden pockets on the quarter panels that close with snaps. A white side Swoosh, a red co-branded tongue tag with white zig-zag stitching and a blue Wings logo patch at the ankle finish off the design nicely. The whole is based on a white midsole with red stitching, coupled with a rubber outsole that is also red.
I find the pair original. After receiving it, I admit I was unsettled but once on my feet, I adhered to this original reinterpretation stuffed with small storage. It’s hard to see a cult silhouette being retouched, but you have to know how to evolve with the times and accept (maybe) this kind of projects.
