Aimé Leon Dore x Timberland 3-Eye Lug

New York streetwear label AIME LEON DORE has teamed up once again with legendary brand TIMBERLAND to bring its touch to the famous boat shoe inspired silhouette, the 3-Eye Lug. It’s offered in 3 colorways : wheat, navy blue and chestnut brown.

This collaboration has a strong New York identity. Although TIMBERLAND was not born in « the city that never sleeps », it also symbolizes New York because of its great popularity in its streets for decades.

The 3-Eye Lug silhouette was originally released in 1978 and introduced a new category of footwear. It combines two worlds with its rugged, hiking-derived lug sole and hand-sewn leather upper inspired by boat shoes.

The brand led by Queens native Teddy Santis has reworked this silhouette by conversing its original essence. ALD offers us a good spring alternative between sneakers and slides.

The shoe benefits from a traditional hand-stitched construction and features a high quality cowhide leather upper from a responsible tannery known for its water, energy and waste management practices. We find the famous 360° functional rawhide lacing system in a color-matched upper. To complete the look, the eyelets appear in gold metal. In terms of branding details, the TIMBERLAND logo is engraved on the side panels and the ALD label is stitched on the side heel. The shoe also features a leather lining and a co-branded EVA foam insole providing optimized cushioning. The whole is based on the traditional thick rubber lugged outsole.

The Aimé Leon Dore x Timberland 3-Eye Lug trio was released on April 2, 2021 exclusively on the New York-based brand’s website aimeleondore.com and will arrive at select retailers and Timberland.com on April 9, 2021. The price is set at 170$ per colorway. Don’t sleep !
