A little more than a year ago, Marco and Andreas Biergen, the founders of the German shop AFEW and the brand AFEW GOODS, realized their childhood dream : to create their own shoe. After the very first YAMASURA Made in Portugal in the colorway « Soil », a 2nd version « Dawn » is proposed to us.
This 2nd 100% vegan color is inspired by the first rays of sunlight, the magic of sunrise. The name « Dawn » symbolizes the new possibilities, the new chances that each new day offers us.
After much experimentation with materials, Marco and Andreas chose to dress this shoe in 100% vegan sustainable leather, made from corn waste.
It fconsists of a white mesh toe box, accompanied by glossy vegan leather overlays in a combination of sandy beige and light pinkish brown. The brand’s logo adorns the quarter panel, Afew Goods branding stands out in brown on the tongue tag and the model’s name is engraved on the side heel. To complete the look, the pair benefits from a white inner lining, matching laces and a circular metallic dubrae featuring the Afew Goods logo. The whole is based on an off-white BLOOM Algae EVA sole (made from seaweed and synthetic materials) that ensures comfort and durability.
The AFEW GOODS Yamasura « Dawn » is limited to 250 units worldwide. It will be released on October 1, 2022 at a price of $210 via an open raffle on the brand’s website de.afew-store.com. Size runs US 5- US 13. Don’t sleep !
