Skateboarding is becoming a new Olympic discipline and will be introduced at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Equipment manufacturers are preparing for this event by creating or reimagining high-performance sneakers. The skateboarding division of adidas unveils its first ever version of the iconic basketball silhouette, the Forum 84, designed with its professional skateboarder Diego Nájera.
The adidas FORUM is a bball sneaker par excellence. Reinterpreted for skateboarding, it’s got in addition the ADV mention and features modified inserts for increased durability and functionality. This Forum 84 ADV is available in a Mid version. It’s the first and potentially only Forum 84 Mid release from adidas’ Skateboarding division.
ADIDAS invited pro skateboarder Diego Nájera to co-design this skateshoe. A native of Los Angeles, Diego chose to pay homage to his city through this sneaker, which is one of his favorite silhouettes. The design is inspired by the city of Angels but also other passions of the skateboarder. It consists of a base in white leather premium with a toe box in tonal tumbled leather. This base is completed with white mesh panels, grey suede eyelets, a semi-translucent overlay on the heel, as well as the clip. The shoe is adorned with a removable Velcro strap over the tongue and ice blue elements, such as the iconic 3 Stripes, adidas branding details on the strap and tongue, and the translucent outsole. To make a statement about Diego Nájera, his name and surname are emblazoned in black and cursive under the left and right outsole, respectively. A white midsole keeps the design together.
The adidas Forum 84 Mid ADV by Diego Nájera will be released on July 24, 2021 in selected skateshops and on adidas.com/skateboard, for a price of 110$.
