The timeless Converse Chuck 70 continues to inspire many designers today and is the basis for a new collaboration. After Golf Wang or even Patta, the South Korean brand ADER error brings its touch to this legendary sneaker.
ADER error is a design collective from South Korea formed in 2014. It brings together creatives with various specializations, such as fashion, architecture, drawing and graphic design. Focused on unisex streetwear, this studio seeks to revisit and rethink classic garments to give them a look that can be surprising, resulting from the fusion of clean minimalism and youthful boldness. We discover unconventional pieces mixing bright primary colors, abstract and esoteric images, playful slogans and bold patterns.
The Converse Chuck 70 reimagined by ADER error was first seen in the South Korean brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 lookbook. Now it appears in official details. Named « Create Next : The new is not new », this exclusive version references the cyclical nature of fashion.
The collaborative shoe sports a deconstructed look. It consists of a white suede upper, enhanced by royal blue canvas inserts, ADER error’s signature color, at the ankle area (hiding the iconic Converse logo) and some metallic eyelets. The traditional lacing is accompanied by additional laces : round, rope and white dotted with blue. To complete the look, the pair features a metallic silver dubrae, a white tongue with contrasting royal blue stitching and the slogan from the collab name ‘The New is not new’ in blue on the side of the foot and toe. The co-branding engraved on the tongue, a royal blue insole with white logos and a black heel badge affirm the collab and ensure the design. The whole is based on a yellowed midsole with a blue line and a semi-translucent outsole that reveals a two-tone white/blue checkerboard pattern under the foot.
This collaborative pair is expected to be released with a special apparel collection.
The ADER error x Converse Chuck 70 « Create Next : The new is not new » will first be released online on January 9, 2023 at adererror.com, before being available at select retailers and on converse.com a day later, on January 10, 2023.
