The German equipment manufacturer ADIDAS continues to highlight female athletes through eye-catching collaborations. Last month, the famous professional basketball player Candace Parker offered us a special Forum Low (article available HERE). Today, it’s the turn of the talented soccer player Abby Dahlkemper to present her reinterpreted Superstar.
Abby Dahlkemper is a 28 year old American sportswoman who plays as a defender. She’s a member of the United States National Team and has been playing for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) for 1 month. At the beginning of 2021, she had notably joined the famous club Manchester City.
The Adidas Superstar Special Abby Dahlkemper features a black leather upper with matching tongue, inner lining and laces. The 3-Stripes on the sides are featured in pin green and the iconic shell toe is dressed in white. The soccer’s name replaces the SUPERSTAR print usually seen on the quarter panel and other details highlight the female strength. For example, we discover the female sex symbol applied on the white leather heel tab and green, white and purple dubraes adorned respectively with the words “YOU” “ARE” “READY” “FOR” THIS”, forming a strong sentence of support for women’s liberation. To complete this message, the insoles are adorned with various motivational inscriptions, as well as the signature of Abby Dahlkemper. A white midsole coupled with a black outsole harmoniously finalizes the design.
