43 einhalb x Mercedes 190E « Infrared Benz »

The re-release of the iconic Nike Air Max III « Radiant Red », popularized as the AM 90 « Infrared », delights all sneakerheads and provides some retailers with original launch ideas (article available HERE). But the most incredible idea comes from the German shop 43 einhalb which will offer us a car. And not just any car, a Mercedes 190 E !

This luxury car nicknamed « baby-Benz » was the very first wagon of the German manufacturer. Designed by Bruno Sacco, it had been conceived to seduce a younger public than the one usually targeted. For its time, in 1990, it was an economical, sporty vehicle with innovative safety technologies. This made this model very popular and coveted some 30 years ago, just like the Air Max III being honored today.

Continuing the celebration of 30 years of the Tinker Hatfield silhouette, the 43 einhalb team wanted to pay tribute to the 90s with this iconic car and by calling on the German rap legend of the same era Kool Savas. The artist appears as a driver in the promotional mini-video on the shop’s Instagram account (@43einhalb). In order to realize this project, 43 einhalb collaborated with the German tuning specialists JP Performance. The baby-Benz has a look inspired by the famous Nike Air Max III « Radiant Red ». The white car is dressed in profiled red stripes from the trunk to the doors. A black rocker panel, with the 43einhalb white logo, is reminiscent of the iconic AM mudguard. hyper worked Chrome wheels complete the 90’s look. To top it all off, the legendary Mercedes logo on the hood is replaced by the Air Max III silhouette.

The Nike Air Max III « Radiant Red » will be available on November 28, 2020 at selected retailers such as 43 einhalb. The German shop has planned to give away this Mercedes 190E « Infrared Benz » but for the moment, no info on how to win has been disclosed… Stay tuned !

We remember the also German AFEW shop, which had set up a raffle to win a sailboat. This boat had been designed in connection with the shoe box designed by AFEW for the Air Max 90 « Reverse Duck Camo ». The ticket cost 10€ and the entire amount raised was donated to Sea-Watch, an organization contributing to the rescue of refugees at sea.

Perhaps 43einhalb has a similar idea for the donation of its Mercedes « Infrared Benz » …
