The iconic Italian brand DIADORA is known to present us with attractive and high quality collabs. After recently working with the young streetwear brand SSSTUFF and the duo BISSO x L’Original, the famous Italian brand has found a solid and faithful partner, the shop 24 KILATES, to create a special V7000 Made in Italy named « Friends for Life ».
For the design of this 6th collaboration, the Spanish store was inspired by Cobi, the Olympic mascot designed by Javier Mariscal for the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
« Cobi » is an allusion to COOB’92, the abbreviation for Olympic Organizing Committee of Barcelona 1992. This mascot is a Pyrenean dog humanized in a cubist style. At first a little sulked during its presentation, Cobi saw then its popularity growing during the months which preceded the Games, to finally become a huge commercial success.
The name of this V7000 collaborative « Friends for Life » is drawn from one of the songs played during the closing ceremony of the O.G. (« Amigos para Siempre » in v.o). The title also symbolizes the deep and sincere relationship between the retailer 24 Kilates and the Italian brand DIADORA.
Made in Italy, this sneaker consists of a brown and yellow upper combining 3 different premium leathers : nappa, pigskin and horsehide. The fur overlays on the midfoot and heel recall the hair of the famous dog honored through this collab. Perforations on the toe box, zig-zag stitching, white and black accents add character to the pair. To complete the look and affirm the inspiration, the tongue is adorned with a patch in the shape of a dog head with the inscription « Amigos para Siempre » (the original title of the song). The shoe also has an insole decorated with an all-over graphic, a hangtag with the design of the tongue tag. The whole is based on a white midsole with a beige heel clip matching the rubber outsole.
This V7000 revisited by 24 Kilates will be delivered with 3 sets of laces, in a special co-branded box featuring the collab logo « Amigos para Siempre ».
The 24 Kilates x Diadora V7000 « Friends for Life » will be released on November 12, 2022 for $230, in stores and online at 24-kts-bkk.com and diadora.com. Don’t sleep !
