At Paris Fashion Week in January 2020, Matthew Williams, founder of the 1017 ALYX 9SM brand and new Creative Director of Givenchy, unveiled 4 versions of the iconic Nike Air Force 1 High. The talented designer announced on his Instagram account that 2 of these collaborations, initially ultra limited, will have a wider release : a completely black Nike Air Force High and a black one with the white side Swoosh.
Matthew Williams is a strong partner of the Beaverton giant. He has been involved in many collaborative projects for the performance wear collections.
With this shoe, the designer of 1017 ALYX 9SM abandons technical requirements in favor of a refined and minimalist design. Matthew Williams wished to preserve the authentic design of this silhouette, while incorporating avant-garde signature 1017 ALYX 9SM details.
The sneakers consist of an upper in high-end full-grain black leather with tone-on-tone overlays. The ankle strap has an ALYX signature anodized aluminum « Cobra » buckle closure system and features gold 1017 ALYX 9SM branding stenciled on the side heel. A Swoosh is finely embroidered on the heel and the two brandings are coupled on the black insole. Silver metallic dubraes with the engravings « 1017 » on the right foot and « 9SM » on the left, as well as waxed black laces, complete the elegant design. The whole is based on a completely black sole.
The two versions 1017 ALYX 9SM x Nike Air Force 1 High will be available on October 24, 2020 on the alyxstudio.com website and via the Nike SNKRS app, for a price of 380€.
