Tous les amateurs de reggae dancehall de Toulouse et ses environs savaient où il fallait être ce samedi 9 mars 2024 : au concert de l’artiste français BLAIZ FAYAH. Organisé par Talowa Productions dans la salle du Metronum, ce show affichait complet depuis déjà plusieurs jours.
BLAIZ FAYAH fait partie de la scène musicale française métropolitaine et antillaise depuis plus d’une décennie. Ce spécialiste du Dancehall Shatta a une belle communauté en France mais aussi en Amérique du Sud, notamment en Colombie et au Costa Rica où il a déjà joué plusieurs fois.
Ce samedi 9 mars 2024 marquait le retour dans une salle fermée de cet artiste habitué aux festivals, et son tout 1er concert dans la ville rose.
Dès 20h00, à l’ouverture des portes du Metronum, le public était archi prêt à vivre une soirée intense de musique, de danse et de ‘pull up’. Autant de femmes que d’hommes étaient venus en nombre pour célébrer la venue de BLAIZ FAYAH à Toulouse.
De 20h20 à 21h15, en attendant l’arrivée de l’artiste qui a composé le banger ‘Call the Police’, DJ Madi – résident de BKM Events – a bien chauffé la salle en jouant des sons phares, classiques ou actuels, de dancehall, shatta, bouyon et reggae.
Le public était donc méga chaud lorsque BLAIZ FAYAH est apparu sur scène à 21h30. BLAIZ FAYAH porte bien son nom, il a mis le feu direct !
Accompagné de Dj Vévé, de ses musiciens, le batteur Tom Bell et le guitariste Alex K-by, ainsi que de son duo de danseuses (@elangel.dancer et @gc_ley), le roi français du dancehall shatta a tout d’abord balancé son tout dernier morceau hyper entraînant ‘No Matta’ issu de son projet MAD TING 3. La foule chantait, dansait, sautait, criait de « pull up » dans une grande joie et une belle communion avec les artistes sur scène. Le ton de la soirée était donné !
Pour ajouter une touche artistique supplémentaire à cette ambiance festive et chaleureuse, des LED – de forme circulaires et changeant de teintes – étaient disposées sur le mur autour du drapeau noir et blanc « BLAIZ FAYAH » et d’autres, en petit format, embellissaient la tenue des danseuses.
Le chanteur a enchaîné avec certains titres phares de son répertoire : ‘Discreet’, ‘Low’, ‘Best Gyal’, ‘Call The Police’, ‘Reload’ et ‘U’r bad’. Sur ce dernier morceau, BLAIZ FAYAH et DJ Vévé ont lancé le fameux contest de « puissance de cri » côté droit VS côté gauche de la salle. Enjouée, la foule était très réceptive et participative. BLAIZ FAYAH a ensuite pris le temps de la remercier et de discuter avec elle, toujours avec une pointe d’humour et parfois d’autodérision très appréciables.
Après ce début tonitruant, le show s’est poursuit avec un son reggae plus calme ‘Over Me’ pour repartir crescendo avec ‘LookGood’, ‘Tikitak’ où les danseuses ont présenté une chorégraphie spéciale avec des torches enflammées , ’10/10′ qui s’est fini avec un solo de guitare, ‘Bubble and Whine’ accompagné d’ombres chinoises des danseuses et ‘Bounce It’.
BLAIZ FAYAH a ensuite fait honneur au public en jouant une grosse exclu : ‘Propaganda’, dans laquelle les parties de saxophone sont assurées par son père (qui a été musicien, entre autres, de Johnny Halliday et Kassav’). Pour conserver l’ambiance de folie qui régnait dans le Metronum depuis le début du concert, BLAIZ FAYAH a continué avec un medley d’anciens et nouveaux sons très chauds, incluant notamment ‘Pressure’, ‘Mad Ting’, ‘SoSoSo’ et ‘No Gyal Static’. Pour amorcer la dernière partie du show, l’artiste a joué ‘Ride’ et ‘Take it easy’ avant de lancer ‘Whine o clock’ et laisser la place aux danseuses de faire une belle démonstration de leurs talents respectifs. ‘Pon di Ting’ était sensé être le dernier morceau, mais c’était sans prendre en compte l’engouement du public et son total refus que le concert s’achève !
Pour le rappel, BLAIZ FAYAH – entouré de sa solide équipe de musiciens et danseuses, a joué le hit ‘BAD’. Le public était tellement chaud que les artistes sont également revenus une fois de plus pour rejouer ce classique de BLAIZ en faisant participer le public au petit jeu du « baisser-sauter ».
Le concert de BLAIZ FAYAH au Metronum de Toulouse a tout simplement été phénoménal ! L’ambiance était folle, avec des artistes et un public au top ! Pour ceux qui n’ont pas eu la chance d’être présents, BLAIZ FAYAH poursuit sa tournée en France. Il sera notamment à la Cigale à Paris le 23 mars (déjà complet !),à Bordeaux le 29 mars et aux Eurockéennes de Belfort le 5 juillet 2024. All dancehall reggae fans in and around Toulouse knew where to be this Saturday, March 9, 2024 : at the concert by French artist BLAIZ FAYAH. Organized by Talowa Productions at the Metronum, the show had already been sold out for several days.
BLAIZ FAYAH has been part of the French metropolitan and West Indian music scene for over a decade. This Dancehall Shatta specialist has a strong community not only in France, but also in South America, notably in Colombia and Costa Rica, where he has already played several times.
This Saturday, March 9, 2024 marked the return to a closed venue of this artist accustomed to festivals, and his very 1st concert in the ‘Ville Rose’ (the surname of Toulouse).
By 8pm, when the doors of the Metronum opened, the audience was fully prepared for an intense evening of music, dance and pull-ups. Both men and women turned out in force to celebrate the arrival of BLAIZ FAYAH in Toulouse.
From 8.20pm to 9.15pm, while awaiting the arrival of the artist who composed the banger ‘Call the Police’, DJ Madi – a resident of BKM Events – warmed up the room by playing classic and contemporary dancehall, shatta, bouyon and reggae beats.
So the crowd was mega-hot when BLAIZ FAYAH took to the stage at 9.30pm. BLAIZ FAYAH lived up to his name, setting the stage on fire !
Accompanied by DJ Vévé, his musicians, drummer Tom Bell and guitarist Alex K-by, as well as his duo of female dancers (@elangel.dancer and @gc_ley) , the French king of dancehall shatta began with his latest catchy track ‘No Matta’ from his MAD TING 3 project. The crowd sang, danced, jumped and shouted « pull up » in joyous communion with the artists on stage. The tone for the evening was set !
To add an extra artistic touch to the warm, festive atmosphere, LEDs – circular in shape and changing hues – were arranged on the wall around the black-and-white « BLAIZ FAYAH » flag, and others, in small format, embellished the dancers’ outfits.
The singer went on to perform some of the highlights of his repertoire : ‘Discreet’, ‘Low’, ‘Best Gyal’, ‘Call The Police’, ‘Reload’ and ‘U’r bad’. On this last track, BLAIZ FAYAH and DJ Vévé launched the famous « scream power » contest between the right and left sides of the hall. The crowd was very receptive and participative. BLAIZ FAYAH then took the time to thank the crowd and chat with them, always with a touch of humor and sometimes self-mockery.
After this thunderous start, the show continued with a calmer reggae sound, ‘Over Me’, before building to a crescendo with ‘LookGood’, ‘Tikitak’, where the dancers performed a special choreography with flaming torches, ’10/10′, which ended with a guitar solo, ‘Bubble and Whine’, accompanied by shadow puppets of the dancers, and ‘Bounce It’.
BLAIZ FAYAH then honored the audience with a big exclusive : ‘Propaganda’, on which his father (musician to Johnny Halliday and Kassav’, among others) played the saxophone parts. To maintain the crazy atmosphere that had reigned in the Metronum since the start of the show, BLAIZ FAYAH continued with a medley of hot new and old sounds, including ‘Pressure’, ‘Mad Ting’, ‘SoSoSo’ and ‘No Gyal Static’. To kick off the last part of the show, the artist played ‘Ride’ and ‘Take it easy’ before launching into ‘Whine o clock’ and giving way to the dancers to show off their respective talents. ‘Pon di Ting’ was supposed to be the last song, but that was without taking into account the enthusiasm of the audience and their total refusal for the concert to come to an end!
For the encore, BLAIZ FAYAH – surrounded by his solid team of musicians and dancers – played the hit ‘BAD’. The audience was so hot that the artists also came back once more to play this BLAIZ classic, involving the audience in a little game of « down-up ».
The BLAIZ FAYAH concert at Toulouse’s Metronum was simply phenomenal ! The atmosphere was insane, with artists and audiences at the top of their game !
