Pour nous donner un avant-goût du Weekend des CURIOSITES qui se tiendra au Bikini les 2, 3 et 4 juin 2023, une soirée « Warm Up » a été organisée par Bleu Citron dans la salle toulousaine du CONNEXION LIVE.
Cet event s’est déroulé en 2 temps : Concerts puis After DJ set gratuit pour se préparer à l’ambiance du week-end prochain au Bikini !
4 artistes émergeants d’univers musicaux différents se sont succédés sur scène devant un public très réceptif. Par ordre d’apparition : Arthur Ely, Gjon’s Tears, Renard Tortue et 2TH.
Le show a commencé à 19:40 avec « celui qui essaie d’être un gars bien », ARTHUR ELY. L’auteur-compositeur et producteur originaire de Strasbourg est arrivé sur scène avec ses 2 guitares, sèche et électrique, et son ami Gaëtan à la batterie. A la fois nonchalant et drôle, l’artiste aux multiples influences mêlant pop, rock, electro et rap a tout de suite engagé la discussion avec public et l’a fait entrer dans son univers musical unique. Pendant une grosse 1/2 heure, Arthur Ely a joué une dizaine de chansons, de ses anciens projets et de son nouvel EP « Hello », comme ‘Carte Jeune’, ‘A nous’, ‘La plupart du temps’ et bien sûr le fameux ‘Hello’.
De 20:30 à 21:15, le participant de l’émission The Voice 2019, The Voice All Stars 2021 et la 3ème place à l’Eurovision 2021 pour la Suisse, GJON’S TEARS, a pris place sur la scène du Connexion Live armé de son synthétiseur. Un petit groupe de fan l’a accueilli avec enthousiasme et même émotion ! La voix hors du commun de l’artiste suisse basé à Paris a séduit le reste de la foule présent dans la salle. Gjon’s Tears a commencé son concert par son hit ‘Répondez-moi’ mais un problème technique l’a contraint de terminer ce morceau acapella, pour le plus grand plaisir du public ! L’artiste a d’ailleurs fait chanter ce dernier avec lui sur le son ‘Silhouette’. Parmi les autres chansons issues de son 1er album intitulé « The Game » sorti en avril 2023, ‘Un coeur qui cogne’ écrite avec la chanteuse Zazie et ‘Cancer’ créée en collaboration avec Ibrahim Maalouf ont reçu un accueil très chaleureux.
Après l’émotion et la douceur dégagées pendant le show de Gjon’s Tears, l’énergie est revenue sur scène avec l’arrivée du groupe RENARD TORTUE. Les jeunes parisiens proposent un style musical mêlant chansons françaises et sonorités rap, ainsi que des influences electro dans certains morceaux. Le duo de chanteurs-rappeurs et leur ami Wolby à la batterie électronique ont commencé le concert à 21:30 avec ‘Palebon’, un son phare de leur EP « Pakomifo ». Ils ont enchaîné avec une exclu, le morceau ‘Les oiseaux’ qui fera partie de la track list de leur tout 1er album dont la sortie est prévue pour le 23 juin 2023. Les artistes à l’énergie communicative ont aussi joué ‘Taleur’ de leur double single « Tic-Tac » sorti il y a 3 semaines, ainsi que des sons plus anciens très appréciés par le public, comme ‘Pakomifo’, ‘Un peu d’oxygène’ et ‘L’invisible’.
Pour finir la partie ‘concerts’ de la soirée en beauté, le rappeur 2TH a pris place sur scène accompagné de son backeur Odetto et de Nelson, l’ingé son devenu DJ pour un soir. Pendant 1 heure, de 22:20 à 23:20, les 3 hommes ont mis le feu sur la scène du Connexion. L’artiste, qui incarne la nouvelle vague du rap aux influences multiples, a débuté le show par son titre ‘J’ai des’ et a enchaîné direct pour chauffer l’ambiance avec les morceaux ‘RPG’, ‘123 soleil’, ‘Bye Bye’, ‘J’me sens bien’ et ‘Rien à perdre’. Les personnes du public hyper enjouées se souviendront du moment où 2TH et Odetto leur ont jeté de l’eau dessus ! Après ce petit interlude rafraichissant, le rappeur parisien a pris le temps de présenter son équipe, de parler de son nouvel EP « Union » qui vient de sortir et a partagé une exclu de ce projet : ‘Bae’, pour le plus grand plaisir de la foule. Pour continuer à faire danser et chanter le public, 2TH a joué ‘Aïe aïe aïe’, qui rappelle un certain tube du début des années 2000. Le concert s’est poursuivi avec une nouvelle exclu ‘Développe’ puis 2TH a prêté le mic à Odetto pour le titre ‘Fais le mouv’. Les 2 hommes ont fait participé le public en lui proposant une choré, simple mais efficace, avant que ça parte en pogo. Le public hyper chaud était heureux d’entendre ensuite 2TH performer les sons ‘Stone’ puis ‘7ème ciel’, un morceau calme et difficile à chanter qui a été choisi par ses followers sur Insta. Pour faire remonter la température, l’artiste a continué le show avec le morceau aux sonorités brésiliennes ‘Mélina’ et l’a terminé avec les bangers ‘Ne fuis pas’ et ‘Tchin Tchin’.
A 23:30, la salle du Connexion a basculé en une soirée club gratuite avec des DJ set du crew toulousain 50cl. Marinier, Cesous et le collectif Austher b2b Naranja se sont succédés aux platines et ont entraîné le public dans leurs univers Electro, Disco Dance, Italo Disco, Indie Dance et d’influences ethniques.
Le « Warm Up » des CURIOSITES 2023 au Connexion Live a permis au public de découvrir des artistes pour un prix très abordable (6€) et de plonger dans l’ambiance cool, joyeuse et bon enfant qui se dégagera du Weekend des Curiosités au Bikini. Les concerts et l’after étaient de belle qualité. Ce Warm Up a été une réussite !

4 emerging artists from different musical universes took to the stage in front of a very receptive audience. In order of appearance: Arthur Ely, Gjon’s Tears, Renard Tortue and 2TH.
The show kicked off at 19:40 with « the guy who tries to be a good guy », ARTHUR ELY. The Strasbourg-born songwriter and producer took to the stage with his 2 guitars, classic and electric, and his friend Gaëtan on drums. At once nonchalant and funny, the multi-influenced artist of pop, rock, electro and rap immediately engaged the audience in conversation and drew them into his unique musical universe. For a good 1/2 hour, Arthur Ely played a dozen songs from his previous projects and his new EP « Hello », including ‘Carte Jeune’, ‘A nous’, ‘La plupart du temps’ and, of course, the famous ‘Hello’.
From 20:30 to 21:15, The Voice 2019, The Voice All Stars 2021 and Switzerland’s 3rd place Eurovision 2021 contestant GJON’S TEARS took to the Connexion Live stage armed with his synthesizer. A small group of fans greeted him with enthusiasm and even emotion ! The unusual voice of the Paris-based Swiss artist seduced the rest of the crowd in the room. Gjon’s Tears began his concert with his hit ‘Répondez-moi’, but a technical problem forced him to finish this acapella track, much to the delight of the audience ! The artist also got the audience to sing along with him on ‘Silhouette’. Other songs from his 1st album, « The Game », released in April 2023, included ‘Un coeur qui cogne’, written in collaboration with singer Zazie, and ‘Cancer’, created in collaboration with Ibrahim Maalouf.
After the emotion and gentleness of the Gjon’s Tears show, the energy returned to the stage with the arrival of RENARD TORTUE. The young Parisians offer a musical style blending French songs and rap sounds, as well as electro influences in some tracks. The singer-rapper duo and their friend Wolby on electronic drums kicked off the concert at 21:30 with ‘Palebon’, a highlight from their EP « Pakomifo ». They followed this up with an exclusive, the track ‘Les oiseaux’, which will be part of the track list of their very 1st album due for release on June 23, 2023. The artists with infectious energy also played ‘Taleur’ from their double single « Tic-Tac » released 3 weeks ago, as well as crowd-pleasing older sounds such as ‘Pakomifo’, ‘Un peu d’oxygène’ and ‘L’invisible’.
To round off the concert part of the evening in style, rapper 2TH took to the stage accompanied by his backeur Odetto and Nelson, the sound engineer turned DJ for a night. For 1 hour, from 22:20 to 23:20, the 3 men set the Connexion stage alight. The artist, who embodies the new wave of multi-influenced rap, kicked off the show with his track ‘J’ai des’ and went straight on to set the mood with ‘RPG’, ‘123 soleil’, ‘Bye Bye’, ‘J’me sens bien’ and ‘Rien à perdre’. The hyper-enthusiastic audience will remember the moment when 2TH and Odetto threw water on them ! After this refreshing interlude, the Parisian rapper took the time to introduce his team, talk about his newly-released EP « Union » and share an exclusive from the project : ‘Bae’, much to the delight of the crowd. To keep the crowd dancing and singing along, 2TH continued the concert with ‘Aïe aïe aïe’, reminiscent of a certain hit from the early 2000s. The concert continued with a new exclusive, ‘Développe’, before 2TH lent the mic to Odetto for the track ‘Fais le mouv’. The 2 men got the audience involved with a simple but effective choreography, before the show got off to a pogo. The super-hot crowd was then happy to hear 2TH play the sounds of ‘Stone’ and then ‘7ème ciel’, a quiet, hard-to-sing track that was chosen by his followers on Insta. To raise the temperature, the artist continued the show with the Brazilian-sounding ‘Mélina’ and finished it off with the bangers ‘Ne fuis pas’ and ‘Tchin Tchin’.
At 23:30, the Connexion hall turned into a free club night, with DJ sets by Toulouse crew 50cl. Marinier, Cesous and the Austher b2b Naranja collective took turns at the turntables, drawing the audience into their Electro, Disco Dance, Italo Disco, Indie Dance and ethnic-influenced worlds.
The CURIOSITES 2023 « Warm Up » at Connexion Live gave the public a chance to discover new artists for a very affordable price (6€), and to immerse themselves in the cool, happy and good-natured atmosphere that will emanate from the Weekend des Curiosités at Bikini. The concerts and after-party were of the highest quality. This Warm Up was a success !
