La salle de spectacle du nord de Toulouse, le METRONUM, organise régulièrement des concerts d’artistes connus et des soirées invitant à découvrir de nouveaux talents. Le samedi 17 février 2024, s’est tenu « Les Pépites du Metronum #6 » en collaboration avec l’agence toulousaine BAJO EL MAR. Cette soirée spéciale mettait en lumière 3 artistes issus d’univers musicaux riches : ENAE, JEUNE MORT et JEWEL USAIN.
ENAE a ouvert la soirée à 20:30 en arrivant sur scène accompagnée de sa DJ. La jeune chanteuse-compositrice d’origine américano-haïtienne et franco-espagnole a tout de suite partagé son énergie avec le public. Dotée d’un héritage culturel très riche, ENAE propose une musique mariant le R&B et la Soul avec des rythmes latinos, tropicaux et afro. ENAE sortira un nouvel EP à la fin de l’année 2024.
Avec sa voix puissante, elle chante en anglais ou français et navigue entre les styles en tout aisance. L’artiste a fait participer le public à son show, en l’invitant à taper les mains, à chanter et en interagissant avec lui. Ses chansons parlant d’amour, de trahison amicale, de la vie en général ont été largement appréciées par la foule du METRONUM.
Après plus d’une demi-heure de concert et près de 10 morceaux joués, ENAE a laissé la place au rappeur parisien JEUNE MORT.
L’artiste du collectif emblématique « 75ème Session » portait auparavant le surnom de Zoonard au sein du groupe Bohemian Club. Arrivé sur la scène du METRONUM à 21:15, JEUNE MORT était très attendu par de nombreux(ses) spectateurs(trices). Avec sa grosse décennie d’expérience dans le rap, cet artiste est technique, créatif et capable de performer sur tout type de prods, autant actuelles qu’authentiques. JEUNE MORT propose un rap large et attractif.
Il a commencé son show avec 3 morceaux enchaînés pouvant être reliés aux titres phares des années 90, avec un petit air des Lunatic ou Time Bomb, puis a continué avec des sons davantage mélodiques, plus sombres et nous amenant dans une ambiance drill. Pendant 3/4 d’heure, JEUNE MORT a livré plus de 15 morceaux issus des son dernier projet ‘No Colors’, ainsi que des EP précédents comme ‘Avant l’Aube’ ou ‘Mortuus’. Le public était en feu, hyper content de participer au show de cet artiste confirmé de la scène rap française.
A 22:20, JEWEL USAIN et ses musiciens – un batteur, un guitariste/bassiste et un claviste/trompettiste – sont montés sur la scène du METRONUM pour un concert d’une heure rempli d’énergie et d’ondes positives.
L’artiste est très proche de son public. Il lui parle, blague, le teste en lançant des battles côté droit/côté gauche et lui livre également des anecdotes exclusives, comme sa rencontre avec son claviste-trompettiste Rémi. L’ambiance était folle : super joyeuse et bonne enfant. JEWEL USAIN a notamment régalé la foule avec les titres de son dernier album « Où les garçons grandissent ». Ce dernier projet démontre l’évolution de l’artiste, son sens de la créativité et ses influences musicales multiples. A l’aise dans le rap, JEWEL USAIN surprend aussi par sa facilité sur des instrus néo-soul, R&B et pop. Porté par l’enthousiasme de la soirée, l’artiste s’est jeté dans la foule comme une rockstar et a chanté pendant plus d’une heure avec passion et bonheur. L’état d’esprit positif communicatif et le talent de chanteur éclectique de JEWEL USAIN ont complétement séduit les personnes présentes dans la salle du Metronum ce samedi 17 février 2024.
La Soirée « Les Pépites du Metronum #6 » a été une belle réussite. Le METRONUM et BAJO EL MAR peuvent être fiers de la programmation de cette soirée : 3 artistes d’univers variés, 3 heures de pur plaisir avec des concerts de qualité dans une ambiance festive et positive. ENAE opened the evening at 20:30, arriving on stage accompanied by her DJ. The young singer-songwriter of Haitian-American and French-Spanish descent immediately shared her energy with the audience. With her rich cultural heritage, ENAE’s music blends R&B and soul with Latin, tropical and Afro rhythms. ENAE will release a new EP at the end of 2024.
With her powerful voice, she sings in English or French, navigating between styles with ease. The artist got the audience involved in her show, inviting them to clap, sing along and interact with her. Her songs about love, friendship and betrayal, and life in general, were much appreciated by the METRONUM crowd.
After more than half an hour’s performance and nearly 10 tracks, ENAE gave way to Parisian rapper JEUNE MORT.
The artist from the emblematic « 75ème Session » collective previously went by the moniker Zoonard in the band Bohemian Club. Arriving on the METRONUM stage at 21:15, JEUNE MORT was eagerly awaited by many in the audience. With over a decade’s experience in rap, this artist is technical, creative and capable of performing on all types of prods, both contemporary and authentic. JEUNE MORT’s rap is broad and attractive.
He kicked off his show with 3 tracks that could be linked to 90s chart-toppers, with a hint of Lunatic or Time Bomb, then moved on to more melodic, darker sounds and a drill-like atmosphere. For 3/4 of an hour, JEUNE MORT delivered over 15 tracks from their latest project ‘No Colors’, as well as previous EPs such as ‘Avant l’Aube’ and ‘Mortuus’. The audience was on fire, overjoyed to be part of the show put on by this established artist on the French rap scene.
At 22:20, JEWEL USAIN and his musicians – a drummer, a guitarist/bassist and a keyboardist/trompeter – took to the METRONUM stage for an hour-long concert packed with energy and positive vibes.
The artist is very close to his audience. He talks to them, jokes with them, tests them with right/left battles, and also shares exclusive anecdotes, such as his meeting with his keyboardist-trumpet player Rémi. The atmosphere was crazy : super happy and good-natured. JEWEL USAIN regaled the crowd with tracks from his latest album « Où les garçons grandissent ». This latest project demonstrates the artist’s evolution, his sense of creativity and his multiple musical influences. At ease in rap, JEWEL USAIN also surprises with his ease on neo-soul, R&B and pop instrus. Carried away by the enthusiasm of the evening, the artist threw himself into the crowd like a rockstar, singing for over an hour with passion and happiness. JEWEL USAIN’s infectious positive spirit and eclectic singing talent completely seduced those present in the Metronum hall on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The « Les Pépites du Metronum #6 » event was a great success. The METRONUM and BAJO EL MAR can be proud of this evening’s program : 3 artists from different worlds, 3 hours of pure pleasure with quality concerts in a festive and positive atmosphere. We look forward to the next session !
