Durant cette année 2020, Jordan Brand nous propose des sorties toutes plus intéressantes les unes que les autres. On retrouve des modèles célébrant les 30 ans de la Jordan 5, des rééditions de coloris cultes sur la Jordan 1 et des nouveautés inspirées des archives. Aujourd’hui, c’est avec une Air Jordan 6 en coloris « Hare » que la marque américaine vient nous faire partager des souvenirs des années 90.
Apparu en 1991, le sixième modèle développé pour Michael Jordan et designé par le légendaire Tinker Hatfield, nommé Air Jordan 6, présentait de belles innovations techniques tels que le renfort à l’avant de la chaussure ou l’utilisation d’une semelle en gomme translucide pour optimiser l’adhérence au sol. C’est avec cette paire aux pieds, que MJ remportait son tout premier titre NBA en battant les Los Angeles Lakers lors de la saison 1990-91.
En 1992, c’est avec un coéquipier très atypique qu’il gagnait un match sur un parquet particulier. En effet, lors d’un post publicitaire, Michael « Air » Jordan venait épauler le célèbre Bugs « Hare » Bunny afin de corriger quelques basketteurs un peu trop moqueurs et bien trop confiants quant à leurs capacités sportives… Ainsi la Air Jordan 7 « Hare » a été popularisée.
Après nous avoir offert un retour fidèle de ce modèle en 2015, puis en avril de cette année, une réédition rappelant le pelage du fameux looney toon, c’est sur une base de Jordan 6 que le coloris initial « Hare » est appliqué aujourd’hui.
On retrouve un upper composé d’une base en nubuck gris perle, lisse sur la toebox puis perforé sur le reste de la chaussure. Le design des superpositions en cuir blanc donne du cachet à la paire.
Cet ensemble de couleurs claires est relevé par des teintes vives, tel que le légendaire infrared qui met en valeur l’unité d’air et la languette. Sur cette dernière, on découvre une touche de modernisation, elle est recouverte d’un matériau semi-translucide, nuançant donc les graphismes géométriques et flashy typiques du premier modèle et plus généralement de la mode des 90’s. Cependant, ces motifs colorés de noir, gris, rouge, jaune et turquoise, sont repris sur l’imprimé de la semelle intérieure, fidèle à cette époque.
En ce qui concerne les détails, le bloque-lacets de couleur orange-carotte apparaît comme un clin d’œil à Bugs Bunny. Aussi, le Jumpman et l’iconique « AIR » sont brodés de fil purple à l’arrière du talon en épais cuir blanc. Tandis que le Jumpman sur la languette et la doublure intérieure se voient habillés de noir.
Le renfort aux chevilles et le pratique heel tab noir et infrared prouvent que cette paire à l’esthétisme soigné reste aussi une chaussure de basketball ultra performante sur le parquet.
L’ensemble repose sur une midsole bicolore blanche et infrared, combinée à une outsole avec une subtile touche de turquoise sous le talon pour finaliser le design.

Appearing in 1991, the sixth model developed for Michael Jordan and designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, named Air Jordan 6, featured some fine technical innovations such as the reinforcement at the front of the shoe and the use of a translucent rubber sole to optimise ground grip. It’s with this pair on his feet that MJ won his very first NBA title by beating the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1990-91 season.
In 1992, he won a match on a particular court with a very unusual teammate. Indeed, during a commercial, Michael « Air » Jordan came to support the famous Bugs « Hare » Bunny to correct some basketball players a little too mocking and too confident about their sporting abilities … Thus the Air Jordan 7 « Hare » has been popularized.
After having offered us a return of this model in 2015, then in April of this year, a rerelease reminding the coat of the famous looney toon, it’s on a Jordan 6 base that the initial « Hare » colorway is applied today.
We find an upper composed of a pearl grey nubuck base, smooth on the toebox then perforated on the rest of the shoe. The design of the white leather overlays gives the pair cachet.
This set of light colours is enhanced by bright touches, such as the legendary infrared, which highlights the air unit and the tongue. On the latter, we discover a touch of modernization, it’s covered with a semi-translucent material, thus nuancing the geometric and flashy graphics typical of the first model and more generally of the fashion of the 90’s. However, these patterns, coloured in black, grey, red, yellow and teal, are repeated on the print of the insole, faithful to this period.
In terms of details, the carrot-orange coloured lace-locker appears as a nod to Bugs Bunny. Also, the Jumpman and the iconic « AIR » are embroidered with purple thread on the back of the heel in thick white leather. While the Jumpman on the tongue and inner lining are dressed in black.
The ankle reinforcement and the practical black and infrared heel tab prove that this stylish pair also remains a high-performance basketball shoe on the court.
The whole is based on a bicolor white and infrared midsole combined with an outsole with a subtle touch of teal under the heel to finalize the design.
