Ce talentueux acteur, scénariste devenu aussi producteur et réalisateur, raconte dans son film semi biographique « Mid 90s » son enfance dans les 90s et son amour pour la culture skate. C’est donc en toute logique que la Adidas Superstar a été choisie pour élaborer ce projet.
Pour fêter les 50 ans de cette sneaker historique, Jonah Hill a récemment réalisé la dernière vidéo Adidas nommée « Change is a team » mettant en scène les ambassadeurs célèbres de la marque et prônant l’enrichissement par les échanges entre générations et communautés.
La paire bénéficie d’une base en cuir blanc pur de première qualité. Cette matière recouvre aussi les trois bandes emblématiques du modèle qui apparaissent ici blanches et en relief sur les côtés de la chaussure. La couleur noire habituellement utilisée pour former ces trois bandes, se retrouve sur le talon. Plus précisément sur le hell tab et descend sur le hell cap en formant une bande verticale. Sur le contrefort du talon, le nom du modèle « Superstar » est brodé en fil noir. La typographie choisie rappelle les tags et graffitis.
Pour parfaire le style brut, limite « trash », typique des années 90 donné à cette collaboration, les larges surpiqures sur le talon semblent faîtes à la main et les lacets oversize apportent du volume à la silhouette. On peut y voir un clin d’oeil aux skaters et rappeurs des 90s qui portaient cette paire peu lacée voire sans lacets à l’instar des Run DMC.
L’iconique toe box de ce modèle apparaît légèrement lissé, donnant un effet « cuir brillant ».
La seule touche de couleur différente se trouve sur le hell tab où les initiales de Jonah Hill sont brodées de couleur verte.
L’ensemble repose sur la semelle originelle blanc cassé avec les surpiqûres qui caractérise cette chaussure.

It’s therefore in all logic that the Adidas Superstar was chosen to make this project.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this historic sneaker, Jonah Hill recently directed the latest Adidas video called « Change is a team » featuring the brand’s famous ambassadors and advocating enrichment through exchanges between generations and communities.
The pair has a base in premium pure white leather. This material also covers the emblematic three stripes of the model which appear here in white and embossed on the sides of the shoe. The black colour usually used to form these stripes is found in the hell. More precisely on the hell tab and goes down on the hell cap forming a vertical stripe. On the heel counter, the model name « Superstar » is embroidered in black thread. The chosen letterpress is reminiscent of tags and graffitis.
To perfect the raw style, almost trashy, typical of the 90s style given to this collaboration, the wide topstitching on the heel seems handmade and the oversized laces bring volume to the silhouette. We can see a nod to the skaters and rappers of the 90s who wore this pair with loosen laces or even no laces like the Run DMC.
The iconic toe box of this model appears slightly smoothed, giving a « shiny leather » effect.
The only touch of different color is on the hell tab where Jonah Hill’s initials are embroidered in green.
The whole is based on the original off-white sole with its characteristic stitching.
The Adidas Superstar x Jonah Hill collaboration will be available on 10 April 2020 on Adidas.com and on the Adidas Originals retailers websites.
