Lancée en 1972, la sneaker imaginée par Bill Bowerman a pour habitude d’être habillée de cuir lisse et déclinée en coloris net et lumineux.
Le retailer britannique SIZE? a choisi de revisiter cette silhouette Nike culte en la dotant d’une construction peu conventionnelle. En ce qui concerne l’inspiration, la sneaker célèbre la scène Britpop des années 90 et combine ainsi héritage sneaker et héritage musical.
La Cortez Size? exclusive se présente en tons riches et terreux. Elle se compose d’un upper en daim en 2 nuances de la couleur marron avec un Swoosh latéral en cuir grainé premium noir. Le heel tab est également présenté en cuir grainé, mais de couleur marron et avec le branding NIKE noir traditionnel. Pour compléter le look, la languette est en nylon marron foncé avec un tag de branding en ton sur ton et les lacets de couleur noire sont dotés d’un dubrae en métal bronze. Une doublure intérieure en cuir noir, une insole orange vif, ainsi qu’une semelle intermédiaire bicolore noire/marron et une outsole dentelée noire apportent la touche finale au design.
Pour mettre en lumière cette sneaker exclusive, SIZE? a fait appel Rhiannon Isabel Barry, une styliste indépendante basée à Londres et collectionneuse vintage des années 90, qui a aussi co-fondé la marque Wavey Garms.
La Nike Cortez « Brown » Size? exclusive sortira le 18 mai 2023 via une raffle désormais ouverte sur l’appli SIZE?Launches. Elle sera disponible au prix de 114€ (100£) et en pointures homme et femme. Let’s go !
Launched in 1972, the Bill Bowerman-designed sneaker is usually dressed in smooth leather and comes in clean, bright colors.
British retailer SIZE? chose to revisit this cult Nike silhouette with an unconventional construction. As for the inspiration, the sneaker celebrates the Britpop scene of the 90s and thus combines sneaker heritage and musical heritage.
The exclusive Cortez Size? comes in rich, earthy tones. It consists of a suede upper in 2 shades of brown with a black premium grained leather side Swoosh. The heel tab is also presented in grained leather, but in brown and with traditional black NIKE branding. To complete the look, the tongue is dark brown nylon with a tonal branding tag and the black laces feature a bronze metal dubrae. A black leather inner lining, a bright orange insole, and a two-tone black/brown midsole and black serrated outsole add the finishing touches to the design.
To highlight this exclusive sneaker, SIZE? enlisted the help of Rhiannon Isabel Barry, a London-based freelance designer and vintage collector from the ’90s, who also co-founded the Wavey Garms brand.
The exclusive Nike Cortez « Brown » Size? will be released on May 18, 2023 via a raffle now open on the SIZE?Launches app. It will be available for $125 (100£) and in men and women sizes. Let’s go !
