Il y a quelques jours, je vous parlais dans un article (dispo ICI) de la dernière création de KangaROOS en l’honneur du nouvel an chinois célébrant l’Année du Tigre. Ayant eu la chance de la recevoir, je vous propose de la découvrir en images à mes pieds.
Cette Runaway 001 CNY2 « Year of the Tiger » conserve la palette de couleur rouge et or vue sur le modèle de 2020. Ces teintes ont une symbolique forte en Chine. Selon l’imagination mythologique, le rouge et l’or servent d’aide pour chasser le monstre mangeur d’hommes qui revient chaque année. Dans un sens plus large, cette sneaker pourra aider à combattre le mal durant toute l’année.
Fabriquée à la main en Allemagne par les experts de chez Hummel und Hummel, cette sneaker se compose d’une tige combinant du mesh et du nubuck de veau beige, avec des superpositions en daim rouge. Pour compléter le look, les panneaux latéraux se parent d’une bande tigrée marron/noire et l’emblématique logo KangaROOS repose sur un empiècement rouge orné de délicates broderies dorées. L’insole fabriquée à la main est respirante, absorbe l’humidité, antibactérienne et recyclable. Comme toujours avec KangaROOS, un grand soin est apporté aux détails. En témoignent également le tag de languette or et rouge spécial « Year of the Tiger », les lacets beige brillant d’inspiration chinoise, le pompon jaune amovible ajouté au niveau de l’œillet supérieur rouge et la calligraphie brodée couleur or sur le talon latéral. L’harmonie du design est assurée par un clip de talon noir s’étendant jusqu’au milieu du pied, une midsole beige et une outsole bleu clair.
La paire est livrée dans une box spéciale comportant une illustration de type œuvre d’art et avec un billet de banque glissé dans l’iconique petite poche de languette.

This Runaway 001 CNY2 « Year of the Tiger » retains the red and gold color palette seen on the 2020 model. These colors have a strong symbolism in China. According to the mythological imagination, red and gold serve as an aid to chase away the man-eating monster that returns every year. In a broader sense, this sneaker can help fight evil throughout the year.
Handcrafted in Germany by the experts at Hummel und Hummel, this sneaker features an upper combining beige calf mesh and nubuck with red suede overlays. To complete the look, the side panels are adorned with a brown/black tiger stripe and the iconic KangaROOS logo rests on a red insert adorned with delicate gold embroidery. The handcrafted insole is breathable, moisture-wicking, antibacterial and recyclable. As Always with KangaROOS, great attention is paid to detail. This includes the special gold and red « Year of the Tiger » tongue tag, the Chinese-inspired shiny beige laces, the removable yellow pom-pom added to the red upper eyelet and the gold embroidered calligraphy on the side heel. The design harmony is ensured by a black heel clip extending to the midfoot, a beige midsole and a light blue outsole.
The pair comes in a special box featuring an artwork-like illustration and with a dollar bill tucked into the iconic small tongue pocket.
