Toujours dans un esprit ludique et respectueux de l’environnement, le designer Sean Wotherspoon dévoile un nouveau volet de sa collaboration avec le géant allemand adidas. Alors qu’une EQT Support 93 inédite vient d’être teasée par le fondateur de Round Two lui-même (article disponible ICI), une nouvelle variation de la fameuse silhouette Superturf Adventure nous est également présentée.
Après avoir introduit ce nouveau design habillée aux couleurs du célèbre Jiminy Cricket, Sean Wotherspoon s’est associé aux Hot Wheels de Mattel pour réinterpréter la Superturf.
Fondée en 1968 et appartenant au groupe Mattel, les voitures miniatures et les circuits Hot Wheels ont traversé les générations avec succès et séduisent toujours autant les petits (et les grands).
Sean Wotherspoon a voulu rendre hommage à ces jouets emblématiques à leur dédiant une chaussure exclusive, très certainement fabriquée à l’aide de matériaux durables et recyclés.
Cette Superturf spéciale se compose d’une base en mesh blanc avec des superpositions assorties et des empiècements de couleurs différentes dispersés sur l’ensemble du pied. Des touches de jaune se distinguent sur la partie latérale basse du pied et le laceguard, alors que du bleu océan habille la doublure intérieure et la languette comportant le slogan jaune Hot Wheels « It’s not the same without the flame » (« Ce n’est pas la même chose sans la flamme »). La languette bénéficie d’une couche supérieure zippée et arbore le co-branding rouge adidas x Hot Wheels. Pour compléter le look, les emblématiques 3 bandes adidas apparaissent en tissu bleu clair, purple et rose, et comportent des surpiqures en zig-zag devenues signature SW. Des accents rouges se distinguent sur les œillets en tissus et le tirant de talon, des patches interchangeables en Velcro peuvent être positionnés sur le talon de couleur bleu ciel. L’insole est ornée d’une illustration graphique et du logo de fameux designer. L’ensemble repose sur une midsole de technologie adiprene blanc cassé, couplée à une outsole à crampons jaune très clair.
La paire est livrée dans une box co-brandée décorée d’un graphisme soleil SW x Hot Wheels.

After introducing this new design dressed with the colors of the famous Jiminy Cricket, Sean Wotherspoon has teamed up with Mattel’s Hot Wheels to reinterpret the Superturf.
Founded in 1968 and owned by the Mattel group, Hot Wheels miniature cars and circuits have successfully crossed generations and still appeal to children (and adults).
Sean Wotherspoon wanted to pay tribute to these iconic toys by dedicating an exclusive shoe to them, most likely made from sustainable and recycled materials.
This special Superturf consists of a white mesh base with matching overlays and colorful inserts scattered throughout the foot. Yellow accents are featured on the lower side of the foot and the laceguard, while ocean blue is used on the inner lining and tongue with the yellow Hot Wheels slogan « It’s not the same without the flame ». The tongue features a zippered top layer and red adidas x Hot Wheels co-branding. To complete the look, the iconic adidas 3-Stripes appear in light blue, purple and pink fabric, and feature the signature SW zig-zag stitching. Red accents stand out on the fabric eyelets and heel pull and interchangeable Velcro patches can be positioned on the light blue heel. The insole is adorned with a graphic illustration and the famous designer logo. The whole is based on an off-white adiprene technology midsole coupled with a very light yellow studded outsole.
The pair comes in a co-branded box decorated with a SW x Hot Wheels sun graphic.
The Hot Wheels x Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superturf Adventure will be released later this year, likely in the spring, at select retailers and on adidas.com for $160. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
