La légendaire marque californienne VANS continue sur son élan de collaborations. Après avoir travaillé avec des sneakershops de différents continents ces derniers mois (articles dispos sur ce site), VANS fait une nouvelle fois équipe avec la marque américaine Kids of Immigrants et nous présente une Old Skool exclusive « Anything is Possible ».
Kids of Immigrants a été fondée en 2016 par deux américains de première génération, Daniel Buezo et Weleh Dennis. Commençant par customiser à la main des t-shirts d’occasion avec de la peinture, la marque Kids of Immigrants a étendu son offre de vêtements et s’est vue portée par des célébrités comme le rappeur Bad Bunny ou le footballeur NFL Odell Beckham Jr. Elle est aussi connue pour son engagement et son dévouement envers sa communauté.
Cette Old Skool revisitée marque la 3ème collaboration avec Vans. La chaussure arbore un look sobre avec des tons neutres blancs et beiges. Afin de rendre hommage aux débuts de la marque Kids of Immigrants, la skateshoe se compose de différents matériaux faisant référence aux articles de l’appartement où la marque est née. On découvre une combinaison de velours, velours côtelé, cachemire, cuir verni et peau de mouton. L’insole apporte une touche de contraste avec son print coloré inspiré des sacs à linge chinois. Pour compléter l’hommage, la midsole blanc cassé se pare d’inscriptions correspondant au premier appartement de Kids of Immigrants et l’outsole apparaît de couleur jaune, clin d’œil aux lampes domestiques longuement utilisées à cette époque.
La Kids of Immigrants x Vans Old Skool « Anything is Possible » sortira le 18 août 2021 via l’application Foot Locker Greenhouse, avant d’être disponible le 20 août sur le site kidsofimmigrants.us et d’arriver le 24 août en magasin et sur footlocker.com.

This revisited Old Skool marks the 3rd collaboration with Vans. The shoe sports an understated look with neutral white and beige tones. To pay homage to the early days of the Kids of Immigrants brand, the skateshoe is composed of different materials referring to the items in the apartment where the brand was born. We discover a combination of velvet, corduroy, cashmere, patent leather and sheepskin. The insole brings a touch of contrast with its colorful print inspired by Chinese laundry bags. To complete the tribute, the off-white midsole is embellished with inscriptions corresponding to the first Kids of Immigrants apartment and the outsole appears in yellow, a nod to the domestic lamps long used at the time.
The Kids of Immigrants x Vans Old Skool « Anything is Possible » will be released on August 18, 2021 via the Foot Locker Greenhouse app, before being available on August 20 at kidsofimmigrants.us and arriving on August 24 in stores and at footlocker.com.
